About Us
Urquhart Opticians is a leading independent group dedicated to delivering exceptional eyecare across our family of practices: Urquharts, Purcells, Kidners, and Shaw Eyecare. Our team is passionate about helping people see better and live better. With a strong local presence and a growing patient base, we are now looking for a talented Part-Time Marketing Executive to help us grow even further.
The Role
We’re looking for a creative and organised marketing professional to implement and deliver the activities outlined in our Marketing Strategy. This role will be key to driving awareness, acquiring new patients, and maintaining the excellent reputation of our four brands. The purpose of this role is to make our practices the ‘go to’ Independent Opticians on the West Coast of Scotland. This role would be well suited for a newly qualified individual or someone with a keen interest in marketing, looking for their first opportunity in such a role.
Key Responsibilities
- Social Media Management: Own the day-to-day presence across our social platforms, including planning, creating, and scheduling content that reflects our values and services.
- Content Calendar: Work with the Marketing Manager to develop and execute our monthly and quarterly content calendars.
- Website & Blog: Keep our websites fresh and relevant with blog posts, service updates, and engaging content.
- Email Marketing: Build and send targeted campaigns to engage existing patients and attract new ones.
- PR & Communications: Support press outreach and community engagement opportunities.
- Tactical Marketing Support: Assist with ad-hoc activities such as print campaigns, in-practice promotions, and events.
What We Hope You’ll Bring

- Confident using platforms such as Canva, Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp (desirable but essential)
- A flair for writing and creating compelling content
- Highly organised with a proactive, self-starter attitude
- Ability to deliver under pressure and to a timescale
- Understanding of brand consistency and visual identity
- Able to work independently while meeting bi-weekly with the Marketing Manager
