Our Troon Practice Unveils State-of-the-Art Refurbishment

An independent opticians in Troon, Ayrshire, has recently undergone a comprehensive refurbishment, featuring an impressive new look and expanded services designed to raise the standard of eye care available to their local patients.

Urquhart Opticians are a well-established independent opticians with several practices across the west coast of Scotland and have been serving communities throughout the region for over 100 years.

Their practice in Troon recently reopened following a brief period of closure between 11th – 18th May, to complete an extensive refurbishment aimed at modernising the interior and creating space for exciting new technology.

As a result of the work done at the practice, the team has now been able to introduce a new smart eyewear station; a dedicated area teeming with tech to showcase all things smart eyewear, including Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, and Oakley Vanguard live, while also allowing for live demonstrations.

This impressive technological expansion reflects the team’s commitment to the Troon community, becoming a smart eyewear hub for the area and consistently modernising their services to best meet the ever-evolving needs of their patients.

Peter Telfer, Managing Director at Urquhart Opticians, said: “The investment in new smart technology has transformed the level of support we can provide for our patients, giving the team the tools to offer a broader and more advanced range of care.”

“We’re incredibly excited to bring these new services to the community and improve the overall experience and access available to local patients.”

Patients will also benefit from new testing technology, with Optomap being another new feature at the refurbished practice.

Optomap is a state-of-the-art imaging system which is able to capture detailed images of the eye, including the extreme peripheral areasof the retina. This provides a deeper and broader view of the eye’s internal structures, allowing for early detection of serious conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal detachment, and many more.

This advanced new service will allow the team to deliver more efficient and comprehensive eye care to improve long-term eye health.

Peter added: “Our team is proud to be enhancing the level of care available to patients in Troon. We remain committed to innovation and supporting each individual patient’s needs and we can’t wait to see them benefit from the improvements we’ve made.”
