Independent opticians secure two prestigious awards
An independent opticians with practices across Ayrshire, Scotland, has recently been recognised as ‘Contact Lens Practice of the Year’ and ‘Marketing Practice of the Year’ in the 2025 Scottish Optometry Awards, receiving recognition for their excellent quality of customer service and eye care expertise that transforms patients’ quality of life.

More recently, the team at Urquhart Opticians have secured two prominent awards at the 2025 Scottish Optometry Awards, being awarded the titles of ‘Marketing Practice of the Year’ across all of their practices, and ‘Contact Lens Practice of the Year’ for their practice based in Ayr.
Hosted by Vision Scotland and The Scottish Optical Conference, the inaugural Scottish Optometry Awards took place in Glasgow this November to celebrate excellence within the optical landscape across Scotland. Dubbed Scotland’s ‘Optical Oscars’, the awards were presented by leading figures in the industry.

Urquhart’s Ayr practice has long been recognised within Ayrshire and beyond as one of few independent practices in the area able to provide advanced contact lens care. Working in partnership with the NHS, the team see a wide range of patients with complex contact lens needs, such as those with irregular corneas, keratoconus, and other challenging conditions where standard lenses are not suitable.
As part of the team’s commitment to providing the highest standard of care for their patients, they’ve also invested in the latest technology within the industry, providing orthokeratology and mini scleral lens fitting. These additional services allow their expert team to cater to patients on an individual level with personalised care tailored specifically to their eye care and eyewear needs.
