A message from Clinical Director...

An update from our Clinical Director……

Following the announcement from the UK and Scottish Governments, we are open by appointment only for any emergency or essential eye care needs. Please do not visit our practices in person as you will not be able to get access.

The advice given by the Government is very clear, to stay indoors, and therefore we want to play our part in ensuring that this is the case by having our team in practice as little as possible.

We recognise a duty of care towards our valued patients and therefore we will still be contactable and supporting you as much as possible. Given the likely pressure on the NHS in the weeks ahead, we are committed to providing Essential and Urgent Eyecare provision. The advice given to us is that these consultations should be done remotely as far as possible, with in person appointments arranged for only the most critical needs.

If you have an Emergency/Essential Eye Care need, please call your local practice as normal and leave a message. One of our Opticians will call you back and we will triage your symptoms over the phone and offer any appropriate advice.

As a reminder, all routine eye examinations have been stopped until further notice.

Please note that if an appointment is necessary, our Opticians will open the practice for you specifically and will be wearing full Personal Protective Equipment.

We can also be contacted on:

Social Media – Facebook; Twitter or Instagram

Google Messenger

Or Email – kilmarnock@urquhart-opticians.co.uk

Thank you for your understanding during these unprecedented times and we will see you all very soon.

Kind Regards

Alistair Duff, Clinical Director
